Viveram entre 265 e 251 milhões de anos atrás, e aparentemente estavam restritos ao Hemisfério Sul do planeta. Alimentavam-se exclusivamente de matéria vegetal. Era dotados de um par de longos caninos superiores: sua função ainda é um mistério.
