PaleoZOO
"Sauropodomorph" is a generic term that characterize a certain diversity of species that formed the evolutionary basis from which emerged the largest of all known dinosaurs: the sauropods. Early sauropodomorphs were small animals, almost totally bipedal and probably omnivores. Some varieties gradually reached larger sizes, switching to a more quadrupedal stance and investing in an exclusively herbivorous diet. Southern of Brazil has an important paleontological record of early sauropodomorphs: in the future it may offer valuable information on the origin and the early diversification of these animals.
